About me

I have been making bookplates since 2000. I studied with Mauricio Schvarzman at the Institute of Visual Arts in Lomas de Zamora. I completed my training at the IUNA (National University of the Arts), the University of the Argentine Social Museum, and the Gutenberg Foundation. I also trained in lithography with Master Humberto Marcal in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2001, I participated in my first international exhibition in Mexico. I am a researcher in color printing of bookplates. I presented a paper on this topic at the 35th Bookplate Congress in Tarragona, Spain, in 2014. I received an honorable mention from the Gliwice Library in Poland in 2024. I have taught courses on this discipline in Chile, the United States, Galicia (Spain), Barcelona, Lisbon, and Porto (Portugal). In 2015, I was invited by Alicia Gallego to teach a course on color bookplates at the Escola Llotja in Barcelona, celebrating the institution's 240th anniversary. I have held more than 20 solo exhibitions in Argentina, Spain, China, and Kazakhstan. In my country, I have received several awards at the Pettoruti Museum, the Artemio Alisio Museum, the Sivori Museum, and the Victor Roverano Museum. My work is part of private and public collections in my country and around the world. My work can be purchased in Lisbon, Rome, and Buenos Aires. Juan Sebastián Carnero

Prueba de estado: 2 matrices.

Par este trabajo voy a usar dos matrices: una que contiene el color verde y la segunda, que tiene el color amarillo y el rojo. Previo a realizar el tiraje de 20 estampas hago una prueba de estado para verificar cómo registran las dos matrices que tienen la misma medida. Hago algunas anotaciones sobre la prueba intentanto ser objetivo en cuanto a los colores que voy a usar, e intentando usar el color y la forma como herramientas conductoras de la imágen que quiero lograr. Esta prueba no es definitiva en cuanto a color, ya que voy a usar una paleta de complementarios (verde-rojo: por la bandera de Italia) y algún violeta o azul para dar la sensación de que el fondo esta atrás y no en un primer plano con un naranja. El ex-libris esta dedicado a Jorge gionco, escultor/pintor/entrenador de Kick-boxing.
